Short description: The project aimed to increase the confidence between people from both banks of Nistru River through the reconstruction of water supply system in the villages of Cioburciu. Reconstruction of the water system for the east part of the village and providing water to 60% of households and social institutions. This project involved collaboration with the Cioburciu village from the left part of the Nistru river and this contributes to the confidence building.

Results: Technical design documentation was developed. A specialised company was selected through an open competition in September 2013 to undertake the reconstruction works. Over 5,7 km of pipes were installed (around 60% of the entire system) and the artesian well was reconstructed; 255 households (over 650 beneficiaries) obtained access to water supply. The water supply system makes the villagers’ live comfortable and the community more attractive socially and economically. The newly installed system allows people to have cheaper water. The present water cost is 10 lei per 1m3, while the previous cost was around 100 lei per 1 m3 of water (tanks of water – distance longer). The implemented project allowed the initiation of another project – the reconstruction of local sewerage system funded through Ecological Fund of Moldova.
